HyLife™ Foods is a facility that is inspected by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and is a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) audit compliant facility. HACCP is an internationally recognized food safety program. There are regular inspections of product & packaging, routine microbial monitoring and tests for shelf life.
Consumer safety begins at the farm. The farms that deliver hogs to the HyLife™ Foods plant are fully compliant with all levels of the Canadian Pork Council’s Canadian Quality Assurance (CQA) program. The CQA program is based on the HACCP system and has been recognized by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency as an approved method of maintaining food safety at every level of pork production.
In addition, all drivers delivering hogs to our plant are required to be TQA (Trucker Quality Assurance) certified. This ensures that swine transporters, producers and handlers understand how to move/handle & transport pigs and the potential impacts of those actions on pig well being & pork quality.
